Purdy + Muroff Architecture, Inc. was founded in April of 1999 by Mark Hartley and Scott Purdy, each seasoned Architects with strong backgrounds in both design and construction.
In January of 2003, they were joined by Michael Muroff, who brings cutting-edge design experience developed through working with some of the world’s most talented Architects in New York and Los Angeles. All three partners were born and raised in Tampa, and continue to have strong ties to the community.
Although Purdy + Muroff architecture specializes in custom Architectural design, we have worked in all facets of the industry, including feasibility studies, master planning, architectural design, construction, and project management. This broad knowledge base enables us to provide our clients with fully-integrated building designs, tailored to the specific needs of each individual client.
Our design team is comprised of talented designers who are NCARB Certified Licensed Architects in twenty states, specialists in Green Building Design, and experts in national and local ADA codes.

Scott’s experience as an Architect began at a very young age. His father was the Principal Architect of a very influential and respected firm in the Tampa Bay Area.
Scott began working within the industry as a draftsman long before he began his formal education at Mississippi State University. Because of his early training, Scott is very adept at executing the applications of architecture in a very expeditious manner.
As President at Purdy + Muroff Architecture, Inc. Scott manages our hospitality accounts for Architectural Design. He has gained great knowledge of the accessibility standards and code compliance for public-use structures. Scott is the lead architect for all of McDonald’s new development and remodeling in the State of Florida and throughout the throughout the United States.
NCARB Certified Licensed Architect in the States of Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Ohio, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, LEED Accredited Professional.
A native of Tampa, Mike received his Bachelors degree in Design from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Masters of Architecture degree from Columbia University.
Mike has 25 years of experience in Commercial Office, Retail, and Residential Architecture, including experience working for world-renowned Architect Peter Eisenman in New York, and for award-winning residential Architect Michael Lee in Los Angeles. Since 2003, Mike has worked as an Architect with Purdy + Muroff Architecture, designing a wide range of buildings including restaurants, office buildings, banks, retail shopping centers and developments, medical offices, condominiums, and single-family houses.
He has been instrumental in strengthening Purdy + Muroff's vision, and he helps guide future growth and development. Mike currently serves on the City of Tampa’s Architectural Review Committee, and he has served on the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Architects as the Director of Operations for Hillsborough County. He co-founded and helped start up the Emerging Tampa Bay Architects (ETBA), and he created and taught the first ever architectural design class at Berkeley Preparatory School.
